Two's Company . . .

The best things come in threes, they say. However, I am concerned by this concept.

(Actually, I'm not sure if they (who say an awful lot) actually do say "the best things come in threes". Is it the best things in life are three? Certainly, there are mobile 'phone companies that would have that as a slogan if they could.

Memo to self : Copyright that a bit sharpish.)

Where was I? Ah yes, things that come in threes. How about this, though - things that seem to come in threes (in that, there is a third something - such as Man) but don't (because there aren't a thing one and two)?

Third world - we know what that is; the places where we ignore natural disasters as soon as we get one in our backyard. Second world? First world? We use those as a concept far less than we should.

We have a "Studio Three" at the University Drama Studio (where I put on plays) - no Studio Two . . . .

And we have (drum roll, please!) a Packet Three!

Where are Packets One and Two? And, do I care?

I think not. Packet Three - small and brown, consisting of dense USA legalese. It's all typed on Courier typewriters, which rather leads me to suspect that the USA isn't really supporting its overseas missions as much as it might. Come on, Washington! Buy them some headed stationery! It's not going to break the bank, is it? Even just a rubber stamp that says "ME AM OFFICIAL DOCUMENT".

Packet Three. It's where it's at.

30 days! 30 days!

Just a quick burst of excitement - it's only 30 days till pick Simon up at the airport!!! God willing, immigration will let him through without any problems. I'm so afraid to even get excited, but I have no choice. I just want to see him so badly.

We have a bunch of stuff planned - but trying very hard to not spend the entire visit running from place to place. We desperately need some solid uninterupted us time!!

30 days!! I can hardly wait!!

London here we come!!!!!!!!!

We got a case number!!! Woo whooooooage!!!

What does this mean, you ask?

It means that our petition has passed through all the hoops here in the States, and is now headed for the London Consulate. They will look it over, and send Simon a bunch of stuff to do and send back, and I'll give him a bunch of stuff to take with him, and he will carry it all to a two hour interview with an immigration official in London. He should find out that day if he has a visa or not.

Very exciting!!! Very stressful! So glad when we will no longer be living on adrenaline.

Oh - right - after this we have a wedding to plan in less than three months, then more immigration stuff, then getting him a job, then working on a baby, then thinking about moving to England... Oh well - there's always retirement.
